Ultrasound

A Pain-free Non-invasive Look

Ultrasound is a valuable diagnostic imaging tool that allows veterinarians to examine your pet’s internal organs safely and non-invasively. Using high-frequency sound waves, ultrasound creates real-time images of internal structures, allowing our veterinary team to closely observe organs such as the liver, kidneys, bladder, intestines, spleen, and heart. The procedure is painless and typically does not require surgery, making it a comfortable option for many pets.

Ultrasound is commonly used to investigate concerns such as masses, cysts, fluid buildup, heart conditions, or changes in abdominal organs. Because it provides real-time imaging, it can also help veterinarians evaluate organ function and guide certain procedures when needed.

In addition, ultrasound can be used to confirm and monitor pregnancy in many animals. At Simi Valley Animal Hospital, ultrasound helps us gather important diagnostic information so we can better understand your pet’s condition and develop the most appropriate treatment plan.
